SoftTeq - Helping the Perth IT Industry

Welcome to SoftTeq, a partnership originally formed in late 2005 by Nick Randolph, John Viner and Alastair Waddell. SoftTeq is no longer a commercial entity, rather it is the vehicle through which we can conduct our community activities. The following is a short list of the activities we are involved with:
  • Perth .NET Community of Practice - The user group meets on the 1st Thursday of every month and usually consists of an hour long presentation followed by some good natured discussions.

  • Perth IT Coffee Group - This is not a babysitters group - Come and catch up with other technologists and talk shop for an hour or so.  This is a weekly event,  meeting at Tiger Tiger at around 1:30pm on Tuesday.  Don't worry if you can't make it every week, and feel free to join us if you just want to hang out with similar minded people

  • Perth IT Bloggers - A number of IT people in Perth maintain a blog and this network was setup to give us all a bit more exposure.  If you want to have your blog included in this list, please feel free to drop us an email (see below for the latest posts from this network).

  • Australian Computer Society - SoftTeq is currently involved with the WA branch committee and we hope to ensure the ACS is a current and relevant organisation for IT professionals in Perth.  There are a number of activities throughout the year where you can network with peers, learn through training or just take advantage of some of the cost savings offered to members.

  • ICT WA - SoftTeq now has someone working with ICTICC to help build the WA ICT industry.  There are a number of associations involved with ICTICC to help reduce the fragmentation that has taken place over a number of years due to the decreasing time available to members.  Through this single bodies the member associations hope to make a substantial difference to the WA ICT industry.

  • Sql Server Compact Edition .ORG - This is a community website for anyone working with SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition which was released by Microsoft in early 2007 following a number of previous incarnations as SQL CE, SQL Mobile and SQL Everywhere. The site also has posts pertaining to the announced Microsoft Synchronisation Services
